    Guest Terms

This document covers how you book, how payments and refunds work, what Our Standards mean, and what to do if something goes wrong. Read it together with the Terms of Service and the Health and Environmental Disclaimer.

    1. Purestay's Role in Your Booking

Purestay is a curated collection of independently owned vacation rental homes. Your rental agreement is with the host, not with Purestay. Purestay is not a party to it, is not the merchant of record, and does not hold your booking funds.

    2. How Bookings Work

Some homes send you to the host's own booking channel. You complete the reservation there, and the terms of that channel and that host govern everything. Purestay has no involvement in and no record of the resulting transaction.

Some homes book through a Purestay-hosted booking page. Even then, your rental agreement is with the host. Payment is processed through the host's own payment account and the host is the merchant of record. Purestay provides the technology and receives a fee from the host.

In both cases the host sets the price, availability, house rules, and cancellation terms.

Where you book through a Purestay-hosted booking page, you will be asked to accept the host's own rental agreement at checkout, separately from these terms. That agreement governs your stay.

    3. Payments, Refunds, and Cancellations

Purestay does not collect or hold guest funds on either tier, and cannot issue a refund.

The host's cancellation policy, shown on the listing before you book, controls what happens if you need to change or cancel. Every refund is issued by the host or the host's payment processor.

Where you booked on the host's own channel, contact the host or that channel directly.

Where you booked through a Purestay-hosted booking page, the host issues any refund from their own account. Where a host issues a refund, Purestay's platform fee on that booking is refunded proportionally.

Because Purestay does not hold booking funds, we recommend independent travel insurance for illness, weather disruption, and other events outside the host's control.

    4. Our Standards — What They Are and What They Are Not

Every host warrants to Purestay that their home meets four required conditions: no undisclosed fragrance in cleaning products, laundry products, guest toiletries, or the home itself; natural-fiber bedding and towels; a low-tox kitchen; and at least one air purifier. Synthetic fragrance is never permitted. Essential oils and other natural fragrance sources are permitted only where the host has disclosed that use on the listing.

Please understand what this does and does not mean.

Our Standards describe products and practices Purestay requires of hosts. They are not a measurement, a test, or a certification, and they do not describe the condition of the air in any home.

Purestay makes no guarantee, representation, or warranty that any home is free of fragrance, scent, or any other substance, or that you will not experience a reaction. Purestay does not inspect, test, or verify any home. Compliance is carried out by independent hosts and the people they employ, and no standard is met perfectly by every person every time.

Scents introduced by previous guests and their belongings, by neighboring properties, by outdoor conditions, and by building materials are outside the control of the host and of Purestay. Sensitivity thresholds also vary significantly between people, and no standard eliminates that variation.

Purestay enforces Our Standards by suspending and removing homes that fall short. That enforcement protects the integrity of the collection. It is not a guarantee to you and does not create a right to a refund.

If you have fragrance sensitivity, chemical sensitivity, asthma, allergies, or a related condition, read the Health and Environmental Disclaimer in full before booking and message the host about anything specific to you. If you book, you accept the risks described there.

    5. Your Responsibilities

You must be 18 or older to book. You agree to follow the host's house rules, respect occupancy limits, and treat the property with care. You are responsible for the conduct of everyone in your party.

Prompt notice. If anything in the home appears inconsistent with what the host disclosed or with Our Standards, notify the host promptly on arrival and contact support@purestay.co. Prompt notice gives the host a reasonable opportunity to fix the issue and gives Purestay the ability to act on the listing. Delayed reporting limits what either can do.

    6. If Something Goes Wrong

Start with the host. Your rental agreement is with them, and most issues resolve quickly through direct communication in good faith.

What Purestay can do. If a home does not meet Our Standards — for example, fragranced cleaning or laundry products in use, or undisclosed essential oil use — report it to support@purestay.co. Purestay may temporarily suspend the listing pending evaluation and, following evaluation, require correction, extend the suspension, or remove the listing permanently. Purestay may also act on host conduct that violates our policies.

What Purestay cannot do. Purestay does not hold booking funds and cannot issue refunds, reverse charges, or enforce a rental agreement on behalf of either party. Enforcement action against a listing is not compensation to a guest.

How to reach us. support@purestay.co with the listing URL, booking dates, and any supporting photographs or messages. We aim to respond within two business days.

    7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Purestay is not liable for the acts, omissions, or performance of any host, for the condition of any property, for any reaction or illness arising from a stay, or for any dispute between a guest and a host.

    8. Governing Law

Governed by the laws of the State of Idaho. Nothing here limits non-waivable consumer protection rights in your state of residence.
