Health and Environmental Disclaimer

Purestay lists homes whose hosts have committed to specific standards about the products they use and the practices they follow.

Those commitments are not guarantees about the condition of a home, and they are not promises about how you will feel in it.

Neither Purestay nor any host guarantees that a home is free of all detectable scent, free of any particular substance, or that you will not have a reaction in it.

If you have a heightened sensitivity or a health condition that could be affected by an indoor environment, you are responsible for deciding whether a particular home is right for you, including by asking the host specific questions before you book.

The rest of this document explains why.

Every home listed on Purestay is required to meet four conditions, which the host warrants:

• Fragrance-free: no synthetic fragrance in cleaning products, provided toiletries, laundry products, or the home itself. Essential oils and other natural fragrance sources are permitted only where disclosed on the listing.
• Natural-fiber bedding and towels: cotton, linen, silk, or wool.
• Low-tox kitchen: stainless steel or cast iron cookware; glass or stainless cups and bowls; glass, stainless, or wood cutting boards; stainless or wood utensils.
• At least one air purifier available in the home.

These are commitments about products and practices. They describe what a host uses and does. They are not measurements, test results, certifications, or guarantees of any environmental condition, air quality level, or chemical concentration.

No testing, sampling, or laboratory analysis is performed by Purestay in connection with these standards.

Purestay reviews listings for alignment with Our Standards and suspends or removes homes that fall short.

Purestay does not independently inspect, visit, test, sample, measure, or verify any home. Purestay's review is a review of information supplied by the host, not an examination of the property.

All information about a home, including everything in the Home Health Profile, is supplied and warranted by the host, not by Purestay. Purestay does not confirm its accuracy and does not guarantee any home, host, or stay.

Purestay's review, approval, or publication of a listing is not a certification, inspection, endorsement, or warranty of any kind.

A host controls the products they buy and the practices they follow. A host does not control everything that affects the air in a home.

Factors outside a host's reasonable control include, without limitation:

• scents brought in by previous guests and their belongings, clothing, luggage, and personal care products;
• neighboring properties or units, laundry exhaust, cooking, cleaning, smoking, or fragrance use nearby;
• outdoor conditions, wildfire smoke, agricultural or industrial activity, pollen, nearby land use, and general air quality;
• building materials, finishes, and furnishings, which may off-gas over time;
• third-party cleaning, laundry, or turnover services, whose products may occasionally differ from a host's own;
• legally required service animals, which cannot be excluded; and
• the wide variation in individual sensitivity thresholds between people.

Hosts are expected to ventilate during turnover where conditions reasonably permit. Ventilation is not guaranteed, is not always possible, and is not sufficient to remove all traces of anything.

For these reasons, no home on Purestay is represented as scent-free, chemical-free, or non-reactive, and no such representation should be inferred from any listing, badge, description, or marketing material.

People differ enormously in what they react to and at what threshold. A home that is entirely comfortable for one guest may not be comfortable for another. Neither Purestay nor any host can predict how any individual will respond to a particular home.

Purestay makes no representation that any home is suitable for any person with any particular sensitivity, allergy, or health condition.

Purestay does not provide medical, health, or diagnostic advice.

Nothing on the Purestay platform, including Our Standards, the Home Health Profile, listing descriptions, badges, blog or social content, or marketing material, is:

• a medical claim or a statement that any home prevents, treats, mitigates, cures, or diagnoses any condition;
• a representation that staying in any home will produce any health benefit or outcome; or
• a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

Terms such as "low-tox," "wellness," "clean," and similar descriptions refer to product and practice choices, not to health effects, safety levels, or medical outcomes.

If you have a medical condition, consult a qualified healthcare professional. Do not rely on Purestay or any listing in making health decisions.

You are responsible for determining whether a home is appropriate for you and everyone in your party.

Before booking, and particularly if you have a heightened sensitivity or health condition, you should:

• read the full listing, including all Home Health Profile information and any disclosures about essential oils or other natural fragrance;
• contact the host directly with specific questions about products, materials, laundry practices, recent work in the home, neighboring conditions, and anything else that matters to you;
• confirm details that are important to you rather than assuming them; and
• decide for yourself whether the home is suitable, and decline to book if you are not satisfied.

Purestay cannot make this assessment for you and does not do so. Purestay has no knowledge of your health, sensitivities, or needs, and is not in a position to evaluate any home against them.

Purestay is not a party to any stay. Every home is owned or controlled by an independent host, and your rental contract is with that host.

Purestay does not own, operate, manage, clean, prepare, or control any home, and is not responsible for its condition, safety, or environmental characteristics.

By booking a stay through Purestay, or by accepting this Disclaimer before continuing to a host's designated booking destination, you acknowledge and agree that:

• you have read and understood this Disclaimer;
• you understand Our Standards are host commitments about products and practices, not guarantees of any condition;
• you understand neither Purestay nor any host guarantees that a home is scent-free or that you will not react to it;
• you have had the opportunity to ask the host any questions you consider important;
• you are responsible for evaluating the suitability of the home for yourself and your party; and
• you voluntarily assume all risk of any allergic, chemical, respiratory, or other reaction, sensitivity, illness, or injury arising from or relating to your stay.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU RELEASE PURESTAY AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS FROM ANY CLAIM, DEMAND, LIABILITY, DAMAGE, OR LOSS OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO ANY ALLERGIC, CHEMICAL, RESPIRATORY, OR OTHER REACTION, SENSITIVITY, ILLNESS, INJURY, OR ADVERSE HEALTH EFFECT CONNECTED WITH ANY HOME OR STAY, WHETHER OR NOT THE HOME MET OUR STANDARDS.

PURESTAY IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF ANY HOST, INCLUDING ANY FAILURE TO MEET, MAINTAIN, OR ACCURATELY REPRESENT OUR STANDARDS.

The disclaimers and limitation of liability in Sections 11 and 12 of the Terms of Service apply in full and are incorporated by reference.

Nothing in this Disclaimer limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted.

If you believe a home does not meet Our Standards, contact support@purestay.co. Purestay may temporarily suspend a listing pending evaluation. Suspension is precautionary and is not a finding of violation, and enforcement action against a host is not compensation to you. Purestay does not issue refunds.

We may update this Disclaimer. The version in effect at the time of your booking governs that booking.
